Do birds yolks take up half the egg or the whole egg?

I found a bird egg yesterday after a really windy storm and I took it inside and put it in a plastic cup with 2 laptop lights and a strong flashlight shining on it with a blanket it over it. I candeled it today and saw a solid object in there, it was only on one side of the egg. Bird or yolk?
