My 99 grand prix gt was idleing rough and sometimes dieing i unhooked my maf sensor and it runs fine now?

So i cleaned the maf sensor and hooked it back up and it still idles rough and sometimes dies but my check engine light has never came on could the maf sensor be goin bad
